The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the biggest event that a student in India can participate in to qualify and later be able to enrol in any medical course of his/her choice. Besides MBBS courses, BDS courses, AYUSH, veterinary, and other medical courses, like a million students are queuing up for the same test every year.
Scholars Academy’s comprehensive guide to NEET 2023 leaves no stone unturned. It covers not only the NEET 2023 syllabus, chapter, wise weightage, exam pattern, or level of difficulty but also the cut off, last year's papers, and free downloadable solutions.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) had to change the NEET 2025 Exam Pattern as a large gesture to give more power to the students and to reduce their psychological stress caused by the Class 11 and 12 syllabuses that were not the same for all. With this changed pattern, choices were brought in the paper for the first time, thus making the exam's structure different from the one of the previous years.
The complete and very detailed explanation breakdown of the NEET 2025 exam pattern is here.

The cut-off for 2023 is lower than that of 2023, indicating a slightly tougher exam or change in overall candidate performance.
Expectation on Cut-Off for Government MBBS Colleges (Admission Cut-Off)
These are presumed safe scores based on previous rounds of counselling. Actual cut-off varies from state to state and category.
| Category | Govt MBBS (AIQ 15%) | Govt MBBS (State Quota 85%) |
| General | 650+ | 600+ |
| EWS | 645+ | 595+ |
| OBC | 630+ | 570+ |
| SC | 500+ | 460+ |
| ST | 480+ | 440+ |
Important Points About NEET Cut-Off
NEET qualifying cut off is the least score required to be eligible for the counselling process. It doesn't make a promise of any admission. Medical colleges running by the government are ending their ranks at lower cut off levels, while the cut off depends on the number of seats, state policies, and reservation categories. Students who want to get MBBS through the All India Quota should score more than 650 to be on the safer side.
