CBSE has released the date sheet for the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations 2027, and the very first paper is on Tuesday, 16 February 2027. The official schedule is dated 6 November 2026, which CBSE says is 101 days before the exams begin. According to the schedule, Class 10 exams run until 9 March 2027, while Class 12 exams continue until 9 April 2027.
For students, the date sheet decides how the next three months of revision will be planned. For parents, it helps with travel, tuition timings and family commitments. This page explains the CBSE Date Sheet 2027 in plain language, based on the official document, so you do not have to scroll through every page of the PDF to find your own papers.

The schedule also covers many optional and skill-based subjects. Painting, Graphics, Sculpture and Applied Art are on Wednesday, 24 February. Home Science (064) is on Thursday, 11 March, Artificial Intelligence (843) on Saturday, 20 March, and Legal Studies (074) on Thursday, 8 April. The regional and foreign language papers, from Punjabi and Bengali to Japanese and Spanish, are all held together on Wednesday, 3 March. Students with such subjects should check the full PDF for their exact code and date.
The official circular says that all examinations will commence at 10:30 AM (IST). Most papers in the schedule run until 1:30 PM, which is a three-hour window. Some papers, such as Painting, many skill subjects, Physical Activity Trainer and the dance and music papers, are listed from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The exact timing for each subject is given next to it in the date sheet.
Every subject has a three-digit code, and it is worth noting your codes down. Some codes appear in both the Class 10 and the Class 12 tables, for example 041 for Mathematics, 049 for Painting and 076 for National Cadet Corps. So always read the table that is meant for your class. The Class 10 table is headed Secondary School Examination 2027, and the Class 12 table is headed Senior School Certificate Examinations 2027.
CBSE has also explained how the schedule was prepared. The date sheet is based on the List of Candidates submitted by schools, and more than 40,000 subject combinations were considered so that two subjects chosen by the same student do not fall on the same day. The Board has also said it considered the tentative dates of major entrance examinations for Class 12 students, and kept adequate gaps between subjects commonly taken together. As per the circular, over 26.5 lakh students in Class 10 and over 19.8 lakh students in Class 12 have registered for the 2027 board exams.
The date sheet does not mention a reporting time, the admit card release date or the full list of exam-day rules. The notes at the end say that important instructions will be issued separately, so students should keep checking the official CBSE website (cbse.gov.in) and their school notices for these details.
The easiest way is to use the download button given at the top of this page, which has the official PDF. You can also get it directly from CBSE. The circular states that the date sheets are available on the official website, www.cbse.gov.in.
To download it from the website, open cbse.gov.in on your phone or computer and look for the latest announcements or circulars section on the home page. Find the link for the Class X and Class XII Board Examinations 2027 date sheet, open it and save the PDF. The menu names on the website can change from time to time, so if you cannot find the link immediately, use the website's search option or check the circulars section. Keep a printed copy at home and a digital copy on your phone.
The official date sheet gives four notes at the end of both the Class 10 and Class 12 schedules. These are the only instructions in the document: important instructions will be issued separately, students should read the instructions given in the admit card, it is mandatory to comply with all instructions issued by CBSE, and no communication devices are allowed inside the examination centre. Please treat these as the official rules, and follow any further circular that CBSE issues.
The points below are general practical tips and are not official CBSE instructions. Check your admit card and your school's guidance for what applies to you.
Visit or locate your examination centre a day before, so that you know the route and the travel time, especially as the papers start at 10:30 AM. Keep your admit card safely in a folder and check that the name, subject and roll number printed on it are correct. Pack your pens, pencils and other stationery the night before, and avoid carrying anything that is not required. Keep a note of the exact date and time of the next paper, so that you do not mix up the day of a subject with a similar name. Reaching the centre calmly and early is far better than rushing in at the last minute.
With the exams starting on 16 February 2027, the first thing to do is to make a simple calendar. Write down only your own subjects, with the dates, and count the number of days left for each paper. A subject with a long gap before the exam can be revised in the middle of your schedule, while the first paper needs attention right away. It also helps to plan the last three or four days before each paper for revision only, rather than starting new chapters.
For Class 10 students, the gap between Mathematics, Science, English, Hindi and Social Science is only four to five days. This means that every subject should be revised at least once well before the exams begin. Practise Mathematics and Science sections that need steady daily work, such as algebra, geometry, numericals and diagrams. In Social Science, make short notes on dates, maps and key terms. Language papers like English and Hindi need writing practice, including the letter, the notice and the long answers.
For Class 12 students, the schedule is long, so it is important to avoid burning out early. Science students have Physics on the very first day, and then Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology with longer gaps in between, so the early weeks should go mainly to Physics. Commerce and humanities students have a more spread-out schedule and can revise subject by subject, finishing one before moving to the next. Students who are also preparing for entrance exams should use the date sheet to see which weeks are heavy and which are lighter, and plan mock tests accordingly. The circular does say CBSE tried to complete board exams well before the major entrance exams, but you should check the dates of the entrance exams you are appearing for separately.
Sample papers and previous-year question papers are among the most useful tools in the last two months. Solve at least a few of them in exam conditions, with a timer set for the full duration of the paper, and then check your answers carefully. Notice where marks are being lost, whether through calculation errors, unfinished answers or poor time management, and work on those areas. Try to give some time every day to revision of old topics, and sleep properly, especially in the week before the exams.
